Welcome to Social Bite, a beacon of compassion nestled in the heart of Glasgow at 10 Sauchiehall St, G2 3GF. This unique café transcends the typical dining experience by marrying delicious food and an inspiring mission. Here, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingles with the palpable sense of community, making every visit not just a meal but a meaningful act of kindness.
Social Bite thrives on the principle of inclusivity. As noted by many patrons, including Dominic Neil-dwyer, this café isn't merely about serving food; it’s about serving the community. On the menu, you’ll find everything from lovely pistachio lattes to a variety of sandwiches and delectable cakes. While personal favorites like the carrot cake and freshly roasted coffee beans have garnered praise, it’s the café’s deeper mission that truly resonates with visitors. The establishment employs a "pay it forward" system, allowing customers to contribute to meals for those in need. In fact, staff members often close the café on Wednesday evenings to extend a warm invitation to the homeless community, further embodying the spirit of giving.
Besides delectable offerings, Social Bite creates a welcoming atmosphere. The décor is subtle and relaxing, crafting the perfect backdrop for a leisurely break or a quick lunch, as highlighted by customer Nivi. The spacious seating arrangements accommodate a diverse clientele, including those accompanied by pets, which adds to the café's charm.
As you step inside, you’ll feel a sense of camaraderie. The commitment to social change is palpable, and the coffee is indeed good, but it’s the impact on the lives of others that truly elevates your experience. Each sip you take contributes to a larger purpose—supporting employment initiatives and outreach for vulnerable populations. As Craig Anderson aptly puts it, you'd choose Social Bite over other café chains any day, simply for the fulfilling atmosphere and the knowledge that your patronage makes a difference.
If you find yourself in Glasgow, don't pass up the chance to visit Social Bite. Indulge in outstanding food and drink, feel the warmth of the staff, and leave with a heart a little fuller than when you entered. It’s more than just a café; it’s a cornerstone of community spirit.

Have been in a couple of times This review is from December 2024 Lovely pistachio latte, was nice and hot and absolute no issues with my Guide Dog Wee Skye. When asked for water was given in a cardboard takeaway bowl which was a nice size and ideal. They also sell local roasted fresh beans , I believe it’s the ones they use for the coffee. They also have other independent products too for sale They also sell sandwiches / food / cakes but can’t comment on those as haven’t tried Seating is comfortable too

This place is one of the best cafes in town, for what they do.They open there doors to the homeless and people that haven't got money to go to good restaurants, GREAT FOOD.

This is an incredibly inspiring place. Just being in here and having a lovely coffee and pastry I was helping homeless people. In addition you can donate into a pot so that homeless people can come in and ask for a coffee and food for takeaway (no charge). They also close the shop Weds eve and invite homeless people into enjoy a meal. Pets allowed. Great space. So welcoming. Lovely staff that believe in giving customers like me great service and equally ensuring homeless people that come in are given food, time and respect. So inspiring. They not only offer food and drink and somewhere for people to meet they help people with projects on employment and outreach. I could never go to another cafe when one of these is around. Giving to corporate pockets or homeless? Social always for me when in Glasgow.

Good coffee and cake. Courteous staff. Decor is subtle and relaxing. They have a pay it forward system so credit to them for this initiative. Would recommend.

I’m so glad I came across this amazing little place. I had a lovely cup of tea and carrot cake. The staff are great and it’s such a fab place for an amazing cause. While I was in, there was an opportunity for homeless people to come in and get some food and a hot drink. It was really heart warming seeing the charity making a difference to so many people who are in need. It was really inclusive too, having people come in to get something while others are having a cup of tea etc.

Walked into here on accident when visiting Glasgow, I had no idea it was a charity led coffee shop supporting homelessness, what a beautiful concept. To top it all off the coffee, cake and staff were great!

Lovely cafe, go here over Pret/Costa/Starbucks any day. Often quiet with nice atmosphere.

Got a quick lunch here. The staff were really friendly and nice atmosphere overall.
